Beginning in the year,1958 to 1960, the Ford motor company developed The ford Edsel a fourth brand to gain market share of the auto industry. And was added to the Division of the Lincoln – Mercury brands. It’s price range was equal to the Mercury.
The Edsel was the first car made by a American auto maker sine the year 1939 launch of the Mercury, and was in competition with, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Buick, also Dodge and Desoto autos. The Edsel was considered a failure because it was unattractive, overhyped, and and somewhat low in quality, it lost 250 million dollars at the time and was discontinued before 1960.

Yea They don’t make them like they used to!
My dad loves old cars and he was telling me the Edsel was a bust. It still looks good to me, ‘cuz I like all cars from that era, but I’ll take your word and his word for it that the Edsel left much to be desired! Great post, Bob!
