I was recalling the candy and other goodies that we had in the 1950s, and how far a dollar went!

Most of the soda was in the 5 to 7 cent range.

When I went for ice cream over the counter I would go to Marys luncheonette across the street from Mom’s store there or for a cold soda fountain drink.
Over the Counter Ice Cream

- Ice Cream Sundae ~ 25 cent
- Ice Cream Soda ~ 25 cent
- Banana boat ~ 35 cent

- All this went good with a 10 cent comic book! So like I stated, if a kid had a dollar they could make out pretty good and on top of that, there was always the Good Humor Man!

Wow Bob this is so amazing especially when you consider today’s prices on things.
