A day’s pay!

Another memory from the 50’s, There was a restaurant down the corner from where I lived named John’s  a bit different from this photo and sometimes in the summer I would ask him if I could work there, and he had me washing dishes in the back kitchen and deliver orders to the Embroidery Factories in the area

Some days I would get a tip other times none, I would be there most of the day and sometimes he’ll give me a sandwich! After all that work he would pay me 25 cents! I know nothing it was nothing really, but I liked it and had some fun for a day and, for 25 cents I got, a coke, bag of chips, and about 20 pieces of candy most candy were 2 for a penny back then!
