This season brings much more meaning in our lifes and makes us take a step back and realize how precious we all are to have have family, friends, pets, this year spending this special day together.

In my home growing up I remember my Mom getting up early making a start on the Lemon meringue pie she made so well, not to memtion the Apple pie, and Chocolate pie, and whipped cream on top! And my Dad getting the turkey ready for the oven in the 1950’s and how the the aroma’s filled the air!

I remember I was just about 5 years of age at the time and we had a air-tight aluminum box where you would hang outside the kitchen window edge and put a gallon bottle of apple cider in it, and was so nice and cold when dinner was served!

On Thanksgiving morning we watched the Macy’s parade and it was always fun to view and we knew it wouldn’t be long after that we would sit down for the turkey and all the trimmings!

But the kids would go outside and play while the goodies were being make inside, really to get out of my parents way! Yes like the song gos: “For The Holidays You Can’t Beat Home Sweet Home”
