“Easy Midnight Chocolate Halloween Cookies Recipe – Soft, Chewy & Spooktacular!” a tasty touch for a spooky night!

Bring back the sweet taste of Halloween past with these rich, chewy Midnight Chocolate Cookies! Easy to bake, fun to decorate, and filled with spooky charm straight from 1959. 🎃👻

Back when Halloween meant pillowcases full of candy and the air smelled like fallen leaves and caramel apples, we didn’t need fancy bakery treats — we baked our own! These Midnight Chocolate Halloween Cookies bring that same old-time flavor back, with rich cocoa, soft chewy centers, and just enough spooky charm to make any kitchen feel like October 31st, 1959.

Decorate them with candy eyes, orange drizzle, or sprinkles — and serve them up with a tall glass of milk while you tell your favorite ghost stories.

  • Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy (2–3 minutes).
  • Add the egg and vanilla; mix well.
  • Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Combine the dry and wet mixtures until smooth.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and any festive add-ins.
  • Scoop dough balls (1½ tablespoons) onto the baking sheet. Flatten slightly.
  • Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are set but centers are soft.
  • Cool on wire racks. Decorate with candy eyes, orange drizzle, or spider-web icing.
  • Spider Cookies: Two candy eyes + chocolate legs.
  • Monster Faces: Use candy eyes and M&Ms pressed into warm cookies.
  • Pumpkin Patch: Orange icing with green vines drawn using gel icing.

  • For extra dark color, use black cocoa or add a drop of black food coloring to the dough.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container up to 5 days — or freeze the dough for later.

Have a haunting time this halloween!
