It was a common event back in the 1950’s, when all the neighborhood folks would plan a big picnic and have a fun day in the outdoors! Each family would bring food like, hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, and who brought along the refreshments.

And other times they all went to a country park and throughout the day the kids had games and the parents also had events, some went hiking along the trails, or fishing and crabbing if they could, they played some baseball, or two hand touch, everyone arrived very early in the morning of the event.

And they set up the tables, with nice table ware, and the parents would be lighting up the grills and would put on a pot of water for fresh instant coffee or tea, and in mid-day they began having lunch and snacks.

Over the years like always people moved on with other events in their lives, and the event slowly began to thin out, but great memories were made from it. And it’s nice knowing you have that to look back on. The video above is from the video page, I just have it set here to repeat.
