A very happy Birthday to Sir Paul McCartney! Born in June 1942 the songwriter began his career when joining the “Quarrymen” in 1957, and that let to the “Beatles” in 1960, and with John Lennon they became the most successful song writing team ever!

In 1970 he and his wife Linda, and Denny Lane formed the band “Wings” one of the most successful bands of that decade, with more then a dozen top 10 singles, and albums. He resumed his solo career in 1980. And he has co-written 32 songs with other artists that topped the billboards hot 100 list.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 1988 as a member of the Beatles, and again in 1999 as a solo artist. He became a member of the of the order of the British Empire in 1965, and was Knighted in 1988 as a solo artist.
